Abstract(s)
O presente relatório de estágio, elaborado no âmbito do mestrado em Educação Pré-escolar e Ensino do 1.º Ciclo do Ensino Básico, teve como principais objetivos compreender a relevância atribuída pelos alunos ao currículo, assim como implementar, em contexto de estágio, práticas pedagógicas centradas nas crianças, partindo da observação do brincar e da análise das experiências dos alunos.
Os trabalhos conducentes à elaboração do relatório incluem um estudo, de natureza qualitativa, que foi desenvolvido nos contextos dos estágios pedagógicos, tanto com um grupo de crianças que frequentavam a Educação Pré-escolar, como com uma turma do 4.º ano do 1.º Ciclo do Ensino Básico, em duas escolas pertencentes à cidade de Ponta Delgada.
Para recolhermos os dados, recorremos à entrevista semiestruturada, a fim de compreendermos as perceções das crianças. Depois de aplicadas individualmente com recurso a fantoches, as entrevistas foram transcritas e analisadas com base no sistema de categorias construído pela mestranda.
Nas entrevistas, os participantes explicitaram uma relevância curricular centrada na escola, havendo alguns casos de negação da importância das aprendizagens para a vida extraescolar. De igual modo, os entrevistados situaram a relevância do seu conhecimento num horizonte futuro, especialmente no campo profissional.
ABSTRACT: This internship report, which is a requirement of the Master’s program in Preschool Education and Teaching of the 1st Cycle of Basic Education, aims at understanding the relevance that students assign to the curriculum, as well as implementing child-centered pedagogical approaches in an internship context, on the basic of both observation of play and the analysis of the student’s experiences. The report includes the presentation of a qualitative study that was carried out in the context of the pedagogical internships, which included teaching a group of pre-school children and a 4th grade class located in the city of Ponta Delgada. To collect the data, we used semi-structured interview in order to understand the children's perceptions. The use of puppets in the interviews facilitated children’s participation. The interviews were transcribed and analyzed on the basis of a category system built by the researcher. The participants tended to express a school-centred perspective on curriculum relevance, which in some cases denied the importance of what they learned in school for their lives outsider the school. After some insistence, most interviewees placed the relevance of school knowledge in a future horizon, especially by mentioning its vocational usefulness.
