Abstract(s)
ABSTRACT: This traineeship report is part of the Preschool and Primary School teachers’ training and it refers to the activities developed during the Pedagogical Traineeship I and II. This document has a theoretical part, but also an analysis of the practical work done during this training process. It describes our actions in the Educational/Pedagogical Practice, and it has a critical and substantiated reflexion on some of the interventions that took place in this context. We give special emphasis to the activities developed on the theme of this report The Excellence of Playing. In order to understand how we can motivate children to learn in a natural and smooth way with their development, we decided to engage through the playfulness area of the learning process, from the analysis of playing. In this context, it was essential to carry out a “case study”, which we structured from an interview done to trainee teachers, from the training school, to learn how they used playful activities and games during their educational practice, both in preschool and primary school. From the analysis of the content, we could confirm the use of playfulness in the practice as a privileged and potential resource. Regardless, the testimonies were clear that in preschool this resource is used more often and in a globalizing perspective, while in primary school, it may not happen as regularly but it falls on one or another curricular area. With these testimonies and with our experience, we can certify that playing has a noble role both in the learning process and in the child’s development, although we cannot generalize these results. This was a moment of confrontation between theory and practice in which the Trainee Teacher had the opportunity to see her expertise evolve when reflecting in the context(s) of school(s) on the diversity of children’s/students’ learning and her educational practice.
