Resumo(s)
A norm is adopted only when it is meaningful. It makes, therefore, no sense to defend that by adopting pre-existing norms and forms the Classical poets accepted to silence their sensibility. Based upon the observation of the Portuguese literary history, we argue that our Schools ought to look for the support of today's literary conceptions. To assure that Classical poetry remains meaningful and to enable its esthetical enjoyment it is necessary to combat pre-conceived notions and to promote the explicit knowledge of the cultural and literary meaning of the adoption of poetic norms.
