| dc.description.abstract | A presente dissertação, intitulada “Satisfação Profissional e Bem-estar Subjetivo dos Professores em Pré-reforma” pretende estudar as representações de reforma, a preparação para a reforma, a satisfação profissional e o bem-estar subjetivo, junto de professores dos ensinos básico e secundário da Região Autónoma dos Açores (Portugal). A dissertação compreende dois estudos metodológicos. O Estudo I teve como objetivo identificar as representações de reforma de professores do ensino básico e secundário da ilha de São Miguel, através do desenvolvimento de entrevistas individuais. A análise de conteúdo permitiu concluir que os professores têm representações distintas de reforma e que vão desde a liberdade horária à entrada numa nova fase da vida. O Estudo II, de natureza quantitativa, teve como objetivos: (i) analisar os níveis de satisfação profissional e de bem-estar subjetivo dos professores dos ensino básico e secundário da Região Autónoma dos Açores; (ii) verificar se existe uma relação entre as variáveis sociodemográficas, profissionais, satisfação profissional e bem-estar subjetivo; (iii) indagar sobre se os professores preparam a sua reforma; (iv) compreender se existe correlação entre a preparação para a reforma e a satisfação profissional e o bem-estar subjetivo; e (vi) averiguar se os estabelecimentos de ensino da região desenvolvem programas de educação para a reforma. | dc.description.abstract | ABSTRACT: This essay, entitled “Job Satisfaction and Subjective Well-being of Teachers in Early Retirement”, aims to study the representations of retirement, preparation for retirement, job satisfaction and subjective well-being in teachers of primary and secondary schools of the Azores in Portugal. The dissertation comprises two methodological studies. The first one, a qualitative study, aims to identify retirement conceptions of the teachers of São Miguel Island, trough individual interviews. The content analysis showed that teachers have different meanings for retirement, such as time liberty and new period of life. The second study, quantitative, aims to: (i) analyse the levels of professional satisfaction and subjective well-being of the teachers of the Azores; (ii) understand the correlations between sociodemographic variables, professional variables, professional satisfaction and subjective well-being; (iii) attest if teachers of the Azores are preparing their retirement; (iv) study the correlation between the preparation for retirement, professional satisfaction and subjective well-being; and (v) understand if the schools of the Azores have educational programs for retirement.
