Abstract(s)
ABSTRACT: Domestic violence has been a constant subject in our days. There have always been known cases of domestic violence, but people are increasingly intolerant of it. There are several types of domestic violence and there are usually associated risk factors as well as a cycle of domestic violence. The prediction of the crime of domestic violence in Portugal has already undergone some changes, but since 2013, remains unchanged. However, methods and plans for the prevention and evaluation of the risk of domestic violence have been created at the national level. To guard against the professional situation of the victim of domestic violence, the labor law forum has established certain mechanisms and faculties that the victim can resort to. Therefore, it is intended with this dissertation to make a quantitative analysis with the objective of having an idea of the number of occurrences registered by the PSP and GNR, the variation in the number of occurrences recorded, the incidence rate in the various regions of mainland Portugal and the nature of the victims, the age of the victims, the number of arrests recorded, the results of the judicial inquiries and the degree of kinship between the victims and the accused.
