Abstract(s)
Policy on mother tongue education in Portugal is changing. This paper presents
part of a study carried out in the Portuguese Archipelago of Azores in which we
analysed the process of appropriation of the curricular transformations in the area by
Portuguese language teachers. Here we discuss their awareness of and involvement
in curricular restructuring, the changes they identify in the area and their opinions
on those changes.
