Abstract(s)
O presente relatório centra-se no projeto de intervenção com componente investigativa intitulado A Mediação ao serviço da Escola: Uma estratégia de prevenção e resolução de conflitos e tem como objetivos conhecer, compreender e potencializar a práxis da Mediação em contexto escolar, evidenciando-a como um valioso contributo para o desenvolvimento de atitudes de cooperação e respeito e como uma estratégia de gestão de conflitos de forma pacífica. Trata-se de um projeto de intervenção de cariz formativo, que procura conhecer aspetos da realidade de uma comunidade educativa no referente ao processo de Mediação escolar, compreender como este é perspetivado por alguns dos seus intervenientes e contribuir para o desenvolvimento de algumas competências de gestão de conflitos, junto de um grupo profissional dessa comunidade. Assim, está em causa o estudo de determinada realidade educativa cujos resultados orientam a elaboração, concretização e avaliação de um programa formativo na mesma. Os resultados do estudo e da formação realizada apontam para a necessidade de se prosseguir com a formação em Mediação escolar, a fim de se clarificar, junto dos formandos, princípios norteadores e características da intervenção em Mediação e o papel do mediador em contexto escolar. Mas igualmente para que os formandos possam explorar a Mediação enquanto estratégia para a prevenção e a gestão de conflitos, sem, contudo, deixar de fora as estratégias para atenuar situações de ocorrências graves. Um estímulo para a prossecução do trabalho neste âmbito consiste no facto de, tanto os resultados da aprendizagem dos formandos como os da avaliação do processo formativo, terem sido bastante satisfatórios.
ABSTRACT: The intervention project, including a research piece called "Mediation at the Service of the School: A Strategy for Conflict Prevention and Resolution," is the main subject of this study. Its goals are to know, understand, and enhance the practice of mediation in a school setting, highlighting it as a valuable contribution to the development of attitudes of teamwork and respect and as a strategy for peaceful conflict management. This is a formative intervention project that aims to understand some aspects of the reality of an educational community regarding the school mediation process, to understand how some of its participants perceive it, and to help a professional group in this community develop some conflict-management skills. Thus, it is a matter of studying a certain educational reality whose results guide the elaboration, implementation, and evaluation of a formative program in that reality. The findings of the study and the training indicate the need for continuing training in school mediation in order to make clear to the trainees the guiding principles and features of the mediation intervention as well as the mediator's function in the school setting. Additionally, to allow trainees to explore mediation as a strategy for conflict prevention and management without, however, leaving out strategies for mitigating serious incidents. A stimulus for further research in this area is the fact that both the learning outcomes of the trainees and the assessment of the training process have been quite satisfactory.
