Abstract(s)
ABSTRACT: This internship report focuses on the analysis and grounding of the practices developed during the internship, within the context of Pedagogical Internship I and II, inserted in the syllabus of the Master's Degree in Preschool Education and Primary Education, from the University of the Azores. The decision falls on the theme "Learning Mathematics through the Environment Study in Preschool Education and Primary Education", focusing the study on the development of a teaching-learning process that promotes the integration between Mathematics and Knowledge of the World / Environment Study. It was attempt to explore the articulation between these two areas, in order to constitute an environment rich in meaningful learning and contextualized with the children’s reality. It was found that, according to the documents of the Ministry of Education and Science and many other authors and researchers, a curricular meeting between this two areas can attenuate the terror of mathematics, since its importance and utility is explained through contextualization to the Knowledge of the World. At the end of the report, we could see the enthusiasm and motivation with which children looked at mathematical activities, once the relevance was demystified. In the first place, this report presents a theoretical basis, where the profile of the Education professional is analyzed, as well as the two curricular areas: Mathematics and Knowledge of the World / Environment Study. Next, the potentialities of this integration and the tools to achieve it are explored. Then, the methodological procedures implemented for the execution of this work, the characterization of the educational environments where the two internships were developed and a brief explanation of the adopted pedagogy of work are exposed. The following part is a description and reflection of some of the activities implemented during the internships. The final considerations are presented at the end.
