Abstract(s)
ABSTRACT: In organizations it is essential to consider employees – essential elements for the correct and full development of organizational activity. Thus, it is necessary to give full attention to their health status and satisfaction, as this may influence positively or negatively, organizational productivity. Several authors show the existence of determinants that affect job satisfaction, namely personal and the ones directly related to work. Health is ultimately related to job satisfaction. While some authors argue that satisfaction affects the health of individuals, others argue that health affects job satisfaction. From the empirical point of view, data made available by the International Social Survey Programme (ISSP) were analyzed. Through data analysis, it was intended to determine how the individual’s health status influences job satisfaction. For this, explanatory variables were used for the level of satisfaction with employment, a set of sociodemographic variables and characterizers of the employment itself, as well as the assessment of the health status by the individual. It was possible to conclude that the subject’s health status influences job satisfaction.
