Abstract(s)
ABSTRACT: Socio-economic inequalities persist in different societies around the world and tend to increase in situations of global crisis, such as pandemics or war, but also in political crises. In schools, these are evident in different forms and increasingly impact the educational process and social integration of students, requiring multidisciplinary support to minimize them. This research analyses the perception of individuals in the educational community regarding the impact of socio-economic inequalities on students' school life, namely the role of multidisciplinary socio-educational support teams in minimizing these inequalities, based on a case study. Analysis of the qualitative data collected through semi-structured interviews suggests that socio-economic inequalities continue to influence the educational process of students, despite the constant efforts of the educational community to reduce their influence on the students' educational trajectory. This case study highlights the need for research that will allow a better understanding of the subject and alerts us to the manifestations of inequality that still exist and that require action to be taken. It concludes that multidisciplinary socio-educational support teams accompany students and their families at school level, but also at the level of mediation with local community institutions, in the interests of inclusion and guaranteeing the conditions for a successful educational process. These teams can be very relevant in an intervention adapted to the needs detected, crossing areas of intervention for a more complete and adjusted follow-up.
