Abstract(s)
A importância dos sistemas de controlo de gestão nas empresas é cada vez mais evidente, enquanto área que permite motivar e avaliar o desempenho dos gestores de uma organização e canalizar as suas ações a fim de que a estratégia definida seja conseguida.
A investigação realizada insere-se na área do Controlo de Gestão e tem como base de estudo a caracterização e análise crítica do sistema de gestão da Central Termoelétrica das Flores pertencente à empresa EDA, tendo sido utilizada a metodologia do Estudo de Caso.
Pelo diagnóstico efetuado à área do controlo de gestão desta organização, concluiu-se que existem algumas ferramentas bem concebidas e implementadas, como é o caso, por exemplo, do Tableau de Bord. Este estudo também permitiu aferir a possibilidade de algumas alterações contribuírem positivamente para o Sistema de Controlo de Gestão da Central. Propõe-se, ainda, a implementação do Balanced Scorecard por ser considerada uma ferramenta de gestão multidimensional, frequentemente adotada pelas organizações quando procuram melhorar o seu desempenho. Considera-se que a utilização desta ferramenta, aliada à criação de um mapa estratégico, poderá contribuir para um maior foco nos fatores críticos, para o sucesso e, por conseguinte, promover um maior alcance dos objetivos propostos pela empresa.
ABSTRACT: The importance of management control systems is increasingly evident as a field for motivation and evaluation of a company’s managers, shaping their actions towards achieving the defined strategy. Having been used a Case Study methodology, this investigation concerns the field of Management Control, and its baseline study lies in the characterisation and critical analysis of management control systems in use at Flores’ Thermoelectric Power Plant, belonging to the EDA company. After assessing the field of management control of this organisation it was found there are several well implement and conceived procedures, as is the case of, for example, the Tableau de Bord. This study has also allowed to ascertain the possibility that some changes can contribute positively towards the Plant’s Management Control System. Furthermore, it is recommended the implementation of the Balanced Scorecard because it is considered a multidimensional management procedure, frequently adopted by organisations seeking to improve performance. It is perceived the use of this procedure, in conjunction with the elaboration of a strategic map, could contribute to a bigger focus on critical factors for success and inherently, a larger achievement of the company’s designated objectives.
