Abstract(s)
Ao longo dos anos tem-se verificado uma crescente preocupação com a sustentabilidade e com a promoção e utilização de tĂ©cnicas que visem nĂŁo sĂł a independĂȘncia energĂ©tica, mas tambĂ©m o bem-estar ambiental e social. Com isto, muitos sĂŁo os paĂses que adotam alternativas "verdes", que permitam por um lado obedecer a acordos internacionais e por outro a uma diminuição da utilização de combustĂveis fĂłsseis. Assim, verificou-se um aumento da produção de eletricidade recorrendo a energias renovĂĄveis, inclusive a eĂłlica.
No entanto, as opiniĂ”es da população relativamente Ă utilização destas fontes de energia divergem. Assim, esta tese tem como principal objetivo aferir quais as preferĂȘncias do consumidor domĂ©stico de eletricidade, na ilha Terceira, com diferentes mix energĂ©ticos e opçÔes de produção. AlĂ©m disso, tem como objetivo aferir, de entre os locais para produção de energia eĂłlica preferidos pelos consumidores domĂ©sticos de eletricidade, quais os que apresentam maior viabilidade econĂłmica, tendo em conta as caracterĂsticas especĂficas de cada local.
Para se atingirem os objetivos propostos recorreu-se, por um lado, Ă realização de questionĂĄrios em que se analisaram as preferĂȘncias dos consumidores domĂ©sticos de eletricidade e, por outro, Ă realização de uma anĂĄlise custo-benefĂcio que utiliza o mĂ©todo de transferĂȘncia de benefĂcios e engloba a valorização das externalidades. ABSTRACT: Over the years there has been a growing concern with sustainability and the promotion and use of techniques aimed at not only energy independence but also the environmental and social well-being. With this, many are the countries that adopt green alternatives, allowing to obey international agreements and to decrease the use of fossil fuels. Thus, there was an increased production of electricity using renewable energy, including wind power. However, the population opinion regarding the use of these energy sources differ. Thus, this thesis aims to assess the preferences of domestic consumers of electricity on the island of Terceira, with different energy mix and production options. Furthermore, it aims to assess, from local wind energy sites the preferred by domestic consumers of electricity, which present greater economic viability, taking into account the specific characteristics of each site. To achieve the proposed objectives resorted to, on the one hand the completion of surveys, which analyzed preferences of domestic consumers of electricity and secondly a cost-benefit analysis using the method of transfer of benefits which includes the valuation of externalities.
