| dc.description.abstract | A presente Dissertação, realizada no âmbito do Mestrado em História Insular e Atlântica (Séculos XV-XX), tem como tema A música na sociedade graciosense: das Filarmónicas à Academia Musical. Um contributo para a sua história. Tendo como pano de fundo a ilha Graciosa, pretendem-se estudar a História e o papel das instituições musicais desta ilha, junto da sociedade, desde a sua fundação até aos fins do século XX, inícios do XXI. Por outro lado, tendo em conta que várias destas instituições já encerraram ou suspenderam as suas atividades, será importante perceber o porquê de tais situações, analisando também se tal poderá continuar a ocorrer com outras instituições. Sendo natural desta ilha e estando ligado à música desde muito novo, considero que a música começa a entrar em decadência nesta ilha, havendo uma escassez de trabalhos que abordem este capítulo. Deste modo, achei por bem, juntamente com as minhas orientadoras, tratar este tema na minha Dissertação, de forma a dar um contributo, com a esperança de ver este trabalho publicado num futuro próximo. A realização desta Dissertação obrigou a uma pesquisa e recolha de dados bastante exaustiva. Por um lado, a recolha e análise de fontes impressas, nomeadamente jornais graciosenses. Por outro lado, o levantamento de testemunhos orais de figuras ligadas a estas mesmas instituições. Também Estatutos ou Livros de Atas foram analisados. A tudo isto se junta a consulta de bibliografia (de publicação local, regional e nacional) e de sítios da Internet. | pt_PT |
| dc.description.abstract | ABSTRACT: The present dissertation, realized in the ambit of the Masters in Insular and Atlantic History (XV-XX centuries), has as its theme Music in the Graciosa’s society: from the Philharmonic to the Musical Academy. A contribution to its history. Against the background of Graciosa Island, the aim is to study the history and role of the musical institutions of this island, from the time of its foundation until the end of the XX century, beginning of the XXI. On the other hand, considering that several of these institutions have closed or suspended their activities, it will be important to understand the reason for such situations, and to analyze whether this can continue to occur with other institutions. Being natural of this island and being connected to the music from very young, I consider that the music begins to fall in this island, being a shortage of works that approach this chapter. Therefore, I found it well, together with my advisors, to address this issue in my Dissertation, in order to make a contribution, hoping to see this work published in the near future. The accomplishment of this Dissertation required a very exhaustive research and data collection. On the one hand, the collection and analysis of printed sources, notably newspapers from Graciosa. On the other hand, the collection of oral testimonies of figures attached to these same institutions. Also, Statutes or Book of Acts were analyzed. All of this is accompanied by bibliography (local, regional and national publication) and Internet sites. | en |
