Abstract(s)
ABSTRACT: This Internship Report, prepared within the scope of the Master's Degree in Computer Science Teaching, describes and analyzes the integration of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in the discipline of Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) in Basic and Secondary Education, highlighting the importance of ICT and informatics in Education. The aim was to introduce AI, integrating it into ICT curriculum activities and (or) school events, to develop crucial skills in students and thus contributing to their AI literacy. The study includes the analysis of pedagogical interventions carried out during the Internships at the different levels of Education, with emphasis on Pre-School Education (EPE) and the 1st, 2nd and 3rd Cycles of Basic Education (CEB) and in Secondary Education. Diversified activities were implemented, including educational robotics and didactic sequences that addressed fundamental concepts of AI, such as social impact and ethical issues, that through active methodologies resulted in significant learning in students, namely in the development of Computational Thinking (CT) skills, critical thinking and problem-solving skills. At the same time, a study was carried out on how teachers mobilize AI in their teaching practice. The results point to the fact that teachers are aware of the growing influence and usefulness of AI in education but recognize a lack of specific training that hinders a more comprehensive and effective implementation of these technologies. Despite this, teachers recognize the importance of continuous training to use AI tools effectively and adapted to different educational contexts. The report concludes that AI has significant potential in education, as long as it is implemented in a pedagogical way and adapted to the needs of students. Through critical observation and the implementation of diversified pedagogical strategies, it is possible to provide a richer and more relevant education, preparing students for the challenges of the future.
