La théorie de la culture de la pauvreté de Oscar Lewis a eu une grande influence dans les Sciences Sociales durant les années 60's.
Cette communication prétend expliquer les principaux points de cette théorie et ses critiques. Nous prétendons aussi comprendre le pourquoi des nombreuses critiques qui lui furent adressés.
ABSTRACT: Oscar Lewis Culture of Poverty theory was a major influence in Social Sciences especially in the 60ths. Even though this theory has been also a target of many critics. These critics say that Lewis produce a narrow view of the poverty production and reproduction. This paper aims to list the major points in Oscar Lewis theory, their critics and also ententes to explain why it has been so criticized.
