ABSTRACT: The main issue of this study is based mainly in the analysis of the religious heritage and the ecclesiastic museums exploring both themes in a perspective of evangelization related not only to cult but also to cultural use. It is known that Catholic’s Church cultural heritage, includes a huge variety of not only material estate but also non-material estate, of great cultural interest, as a huge part of the existing cultural heritage until our days. It is indeed not only the main as well as the essential tools to be used in the development and the achieving of this cultural and religious mission, in other words, a mission based in the evangelization. To give in a specific answer to the main pastoral needs, ecclesiastic museums appear with their huge variety of religious estate in order to evangelize, preserve, investigate, communicate and expose them to others. In this context, there will be throughout this study a constant reflection about the importance of the existence of ecclesiastic museums, not only for the evangelization, but also to preserve and give more value to the ecclesiastic heritage in situ, that means the importance of the religious heritage. The theme proposed with this study lifted several challenges, implying since the beginning to know if the sacred issues can be turned into a museum sacred issue or not and if so what kind of measures could happen allied to innovative museum practices not only for society development but also for Church. In a second moment of this study, there will be a proposal to be made in an ecclesiastic museum called Matriz Church of Santa Cruz in the city of Lagoa, with the Visitable Collection of Matriz Church also in Lagoa, in order to bring out all kind of steps to have in consideration, since planning to the setting up of the museum exposition as well as the pastoral dynamic developed in the place previously mentioned.
