| dc.description.abstract | Esta dissertaĆ§Ć£o tem como principal objetivo compreender como Ć© que a Alemanha se rearmou, cresceu e aglutinou uma enorme quantidade de territĆ³rio, cidadĆ£os e recursos, Ć margem do Tratado de Versailles, sem iniciar um conflito. A escolha deste tema prende-se com a gravidade das consequĆŖncias da ascensĆ£o ao poder do partido Nacional-Socialista, numa sociedade moderna e avanƧada como a Alemanha. De modo a ter um panorama da Ć©poca, foram utilizadas fontes bibliogrĆ”ficas impressas e online que abordassem a situaĆ§Ć£o internacional e a situaĆ§Ć£o interna da Alemanha entre a Grande Guerra Mundial e a Segunda Guerra Mundial. A situaĆ§Ć£o interna da Alemanha proporcionou terreno fĆ©rtil para os nazis eventualmente subirem ao poder, com o apoio de uma porĆ§Ć£o considerĆ”vel da populaĆ§Ć£o. No entanto, a paralisia das democracias europeias, vencedoras da Grande Guerra, perante as violaƧƵes do Tratado de Versailles, juntamente com a sua hesitaĆ§Ć£o em assegurar uma alianƧa militar com a URSS, foi um dos episĆ³dios mais lamentĆ”veis da diplomacia das democracias europeias levando a que apenas reagissem quando a Alemanha nazi invadiu a PolĆ³nia, e despoletou a Segunda Guerra Mundial. | pt_PT |
| dc.description.abstract | ABSTRACT: The main objective of this dissertation is to understand how Germany rearmed, grew, and amassed a huge amount of territory, citizens, and resources, whilst breaking the Treaty of Versailles, without starting a conflict. Due to the seriousness of the consequences of the rise to power of the National Socialist party in a modern and advanced society like Germany, this theme remains relevant. In order to get an overview of the time, print and online bibliographic sources were used that addressed the international situation and the internal situation of Germany between the Great World War and the Second World War. Germany's internal situation provided fertile ground for the Nazis to eventually rise to power, with the support of a considerable portion of the population. However, the paralysis of the warwinning European democracies in the face of the violations of the Treaty of Versailles, together with their hesitation to secure a military alliance with the USSR, was one of the most regrettable episodes in the diplomacy of the European democracies, who only reacted when Nazi Germany invaded Poland and triggered the Second World War. | en |
