Abstract(s)
O objetivo desta dissertação é dar conta da forma como se produzem as imagens ou construções sociais acerca da velhice institucionalizada, sobretudo na esfera individual dos idosos internados permanentemente em equipamentos destinados à velhice dependente. Analisa-se a formação das categorias sociais e a influência dos principais agentes dessa construção e o impacto que a instituição tem, quer no quotidiano dos institucionalizados, quer no seu processo identitário. O trabalho empírico consiste na leitura das autoimagens dos velhos em situação de institucionalização.
ABSTRACT: The goal of this dissertation is to explain the way how are produced the images of old age in a nursing home, especially in the olds individual sphere, who are living permanently in an establishment created to accept the dependent elderly. We analyze the construction of the social categories and the influence of their most important agents, such as their impact in the olds quotidian and identity’s process. The empirical work consists on reading the personal images of the elderly situation in the nursing home.
