A preliminary list of the Lepidoptera (21 species) and Hymenoptera (6 species) of Santa Maria is elaborated. Some remarks are also given about Mythimna unipuncta (Haw.) (Lep., Noctuidae) and the relationship between armyworm and its natural enemies, especially Apanteles militaris Walsh (Hym., Braconidae).
