Abstract(s)
O endemismo dos Lepidópteros do Arquipélago dos Açores é de 25%. A partir da informação bibliográfica disponível, calculou-se o "índice de diversidade faunística” de Ribeiro e o ''coeficiente de similitude de Sørensen" para ajuizar, respectivamente, das relações entre a riqueza lepidopterológica específica de cada ilha e a respectiva área e das ligações preferenciais de semelhança entre ilhas (ainda com base na sua riqueza em Lepidópteros). Considerando a actual lista de Lepidópteros, pode-se concluir que não há uma correlação significativa entre o número de espécies (e subespécies) presentes nas ilhas e a superfície destas, e que a semelhança entre o povoamento lepidopterológico das diversas ilhas não será necessariamente relacionada com a sua proximidade geográfica.
ABSTRACT: Endemism in Lepidoptera of the Azores Archipelago is 25 %. From the published literature we calculated the "index of faunistic diversity" of Ribeiro and the similarity index (Sørensen coefficient). This was to assess the relationships between specific richness of Lepidoptera in relation to the area of each island and the similarity of Lepidoptera populations between the islands. From the checklist published here, we conclude that Lepidopteran diversity of Azorean islands is not significantly correlated with the size of the island. Also, similarities in Lepidoptera fauna population each island, are not necessarily related to their geographical position.
