Abstract(s)
O presente trabalho explora os efeitos sócio-políticos e ético-morais de Auschwitz no processo de democratização da Alemanha Ocidental do pós-guerra. Neste artigo pretende-se assim: 1) contextualizar o colapso da "Alemanha irracional" em 1945; 2) analisar o debate interno sobre a "culpa alemã"; 3) avaliar a intervenção dos intelectuais - judeus e alemães - na esfera tanto pública, como política e finalmente, 4) compreender - a partir de uma perspectiva habermasiana - as contradições de ordem social, política e cultural em torno do nascimento do estado democrático alemão.
ABSTRACT: This paper explores the social-political and ethical-moral outcomes of Auschwitz in the democratization process of post-war western Germany. This article seeks, therefore, to: 1) contextualize the 1945 collapse of the "irrational Germany"; 2) analyze the internal debate around the "German guilt"; 3) evaluate the intellectuals' - Jews and Germans - intervention in the public, as in the political sphere and finally, 4) understand - within a habermasian perspective - the social, political and cultural contradictions around the birth of the German democratic state.
