An account is given of the species of insects collected during the "Graciosa 88 Cientific Expedition", in June 1988. A
preliminary list of the Lepidoptera of Graciosa is presented, containing 31 confirmed species, of which 9 reported for the first time for the Island. Included are some remarks on the geographical distribution of Mythimna unipuncta HAW. (Lep., Noctuidae) and the relationship between armyworm, host plants and their natural enemies, especially Apanteles militaris WALSH. (Hym., Braconidae).
