Esta dissertação aborda, o investimento na educação e a perceção sobre a remuneração no mercado de trabalho pelo ponto de vista dos estudantes da Universidade dos Açores. Assim, utiliza-se como base de dados, um inquérito realizado a estes alunos com o propósito de verificar a sua perceção. Os resultados indicam que, as diferenças salariais entre os níveis de ensino secundário e superior são muito positivas, ou seja, para esta amostra, compensa obter um nível de ensino superior. É de realçar que, estas perceções variam com diversos fatores, nomeadamente o curso onde o individuo está inserido.
ABSTRACT: This dissertation approaches the investment in education and perception of earnings when into the labor market from the point of view of the Universidade dos Açores’ students. For this purpose, a survey filled by these students is used as a database, in order to check their perception. The results show that the wage gap between high school and college education is substantial, and that it compensates to get a college degree. It is noteworthy that these perceptions vary with several factors, including the field where the individual is inserted.
