Abstract(s)
Iremos procurar apresentar o pensamento de Teófilo Braga sobre a religião, salientando os tópicos seguintes: origem e desenvolvimento da religião na história da humanidade; marca da religião na vida individual e social; origem psicológica e social do cristianismo; a Ciência e a Indústria como substitutos da religião, no estado emancipado da humanidade. Antes, porém, apresentaremos as linhas teóricas da abordagem da temática da religião a partir da sistematização que a mesma conheceu nas obras pertencentes ao período positivista do autor.
ABSTRACT: We will attempt to present Teófilo Braga’s thoughts on religion, highlighting the following topics: origin and development of religion in the history of humanity; the impact of religion on individual and social life; the psychological and social origin of Christianity; Science and Industry as substitutes for religion in the emancipated state of humanity. Firs however, we will present the theoretical lines of the approach to the theme of religion based on the systematization it underwent in the works belonging to the author’s positivist period.
