A oscilação com um semiperíodo de 11 anos parece produzir as crises sísmicas dos Açores. O efeito do movimento da Terra em torno do Sol, sobreposto àquela oscilação, pode também ser responsável pela pulsação de câmaras magmáticas dos vulcões açorianos.ABSTRACT: Rotation of the Sun in the Galaxy, as well as a possible oscillation perpendicular to the galactic plane, are acceptable mechanisms for producing the main tectonic phenomena, if we assume along that orbit, the existence of changes in gravitation (or in the so-called gravitational «constant»).
