Este fenómeno atinge diversas áreas do currículo, incluindo a matemática. Sendo esta uma área que é trabalhada desde a Educação Pré-Escolar e que apresenta um vasto potencial educativo, é importante que os futuros profissionais da educação aprofundem os seus conhecimentos sobre esta temática de forma a contribuir para diminuir o insucesso escolar a nível da matemática através das práticas pedagógicas que realizem. Durante as práticas pedagógicas realizadas na Educação Pré-Escolar e Ensino do 1º Ciclo em Ensino Básico, pretendi desenvolver os seguintes objetivos gerais: desenvolver estratégias que permitissem ao aluno compreender a importância da matemática no dia-a-dia; desenvolver estratégias que estimulassem nos alunos o gosto pela matemática, de forma a permitir uma aplicação sensorial nas atividades de aprendizagem e contribuir com conhecimentos inovadores que permitissem estabelecer ambientes de aprendizagem eficazes no campo da matemática. Os objetivos específicos que pretendi desenvolver foram: utilizar com os alunos atividades que lhes fossem familiares, aplicadas ao quotidiano, em vez de abstratas; construir materiais manipulativos específicos para determinados temas; construir atividades que facilitassem o ensino da matemática, com auxílio de ferramentas lúdicas e tirar partido das aprendizagens realizadas enquanto estagiária de forma a planificar atividades de ensino/aprendizagem que tivessem um maior potencial de promoção do sucesso educativo em matemática. Deste modo, após um momento de pesquisa, análise e reflexão sobre o insucesso escolar e as suas causas de forma a preparar-me para a implementação das práticas pedagógicas realizadas na Educação Pré-Escolar e do 1º Ciclo do Ensino Básico, este relatório de estágio tem como principal objetivo refletir sobre as práticas pedagógicas desenvolvidas e de que forma estas contribuíram para diminuir as dificuldades a nível da matemática que os alunos apresentavam. Após uma análise sobre as atividades matemáticas que proporcionei, posso afirmar que de uma forma geral estas contribuíram para o sucesso dos alunos a nível da matemática. Foi também realizado um estudo empírico que recorreu à metodologia qualitativa, onde se procedeu à realização e posterior análise de entrevistas realizadas na Educação Pré-Escolar e no 1º Ciclo do Ensino Básico. Dado o número de entrevistas realizadas, as conclusões obtidas restringem-se apenas aos entrevistados. Os resultados obtidos permitiram-me verificar que os entrevistados partilharam da mesma opinião relativamente à importância de utilização de materiais manipuláveis na promoção de aprendizagens matemáticas e que na sua opinião tanto os educadores/professores, alunos, encarregados de educação e escola são responsáveis pelo (in) sucesso escolar dos alunos.ABSTRACT: The school failure takes on a vast conception with different definitions. This phenomenon affects many areas of the curriculum, including mathematics. Since this is an area that has been working since pre-school education and has a vast educational potential, it is important that future education professionals deepen their knowledge on this subject in a way that helps to reduce school failure in mathematics through of the pedagogical practices they carry out. During the pedagogical practices carried out in pre-school and primary education, I wanted to develop the following general objectives: to develop strategies that would allow the student to understand the importance of mathematics in everyday life; Develop strategies that stimulate in students the taste for mathematics in order to allow a sensorial application in learning activities and contribute with innovative knowledge that would allow to establish effective learning environments in the field of mathematics. The specific objectives that I wanted to develop were: to use with the students activities that were familiar to them, applied to the daily life, instead of abstract; Construct specific manipulative materials for certain themes; To construct activities that facilitate the teaching of mathematics with the aid of playful tools and to take advantage of the apprenticeships carried out as trainee in order to plan teaching /learning activities that have a greater potential to promote educational success in mathematics. Thus, after a moment of research, analysis and reflection on school failure and its causes in order to prepare me for the implementation of the pedagogical practices carried out in Preprimary Education and the 1st Cycle of Basic Education, this internship report has as main objective to reflect on the pedagogical practices developed and how they contributed to reduce the difficulties in the mathematics that the students presented. After an analysis of the mathematical activities I provided, I can say that in general these have contributed to students' success in mathematics. An empirical study was also carried out that used the qualitative methodology, where we performed and later analyzed interviews conducted in Pre-School Education and in the 1st Cycle of Basic Education. Given the number of interviews conducted, the conclusions obtained are restricted to interviewees only.
