Procuramos mostrar como, por um lado, a partir das correntes animistas e vitalistas, se desenvolveu um persistente esforço para encontrar, no próprio funcionamento orgânico dos seres, a chave da compreensão do mundo vivo e, por outro lado, como a epistemologia piagetiana pôs em evidência a estreita ligação entre a actividade orgânica e o dinamismo intelectual do homem.ABSTRACT: An understanding of live outside the mathematical parameters of modern physics brings forth a different vision of man.
