O intelectual engagé dos movimentos sociais

Abstract

Considerando tanto as continuidades e descontinuidades sócio-históricas, políticas e culturais, como também as constantes metamorfoses na esfera pública, este trabalho pretende uma análise comparativa entre o impacto multidimensional da crítica dos intelectuais dos anos 60 e 70 e a primeira década dos anos 2000. Irá, deste modo, averiguar se subsistem algumas nuances do engagement dos intelectuais dos movimentos sociais dos anos 60/70 no papel do intelectual hodierno face às crises emergentes de índole cultural, social, político-económica, que—embora motivadas por públicos, interesses e contextos diferentes—tendem a ter algumas características e contornos em comum. Este trabalho ambiciona perceber (1) se os intelectuais recuperaram a sua voz, até agora adormecida, na esfera pública, (2) se têm vindo a contribuir com alternativas socioculturais e políticas e, até mesmo, (3) se têm vindo a fomentar um fórum de comunicação com o intuito de instigar alternativas à alternativa imposta pelo sistema.

ABSTRACT: By taking into account the social, historic, political and cultural continuities and discontinuities, aswell as the permanent metamorphosis of the public sphere, this article aims at a comparative analysis of the multidimensional impact of the intellectual critique of the 60’s and 70’s and that of the first decade of the 2000’s. This article therefore aspires at understanding if some of the nuances of the intellectuals’ engagement of the 60’s and 70’s social movements still persist today as regards the role of the contemporary intellectual when facing the emerging cultural, social, political and economic crisis, which — although caused by different publics, interests and contexts — tend to have some characteristics and contours in common. Thiswork aims at understanding (1) if intellectuals have reclaimed their voice, so far silent, in the public sphere, (2) if they have been contributing with social, cultural and political alternatives and even (3) if they have been fostering communication forums with the objective of instigating alternatives to the alternative imposed by the system.
