Os institutos culturais açorianos: uma análise sociológica sobre a comunidade intelectual

Abstract

Numa perspectiva sociológica pretendemos analisar não só os dilemas e paradoxos da Comunidade Intelectual Açoriana, como também o contributo sociocultural destes através dos Institutos Culturais Açorianos. Para apreender o contributo cultural dos Institutos Culturais Açorianos na relevância social, torna-se importante estudar em paralelo a comunidade Intelectual Açoriana, efectuando-se uma análise sócio-histórica sobre a génese do próprio conceito de intelectual desde o Affaire Dreyfus. Ambicionando deslindar se os institutos e a Comunidade Intelectual que deles fazem parte, estabelecem sinergias com a sociedade ou se, de forma implícita, permanecem como um nicho elitista, i.e., de resistência a uma “cultura de massas” que tende a prevalecer no “mundo da vida”. Metodologicamente, a análise dos documentos, conjugada com o questionário contribuirá para depreender se: A Comunidade Intelectual pertencente aos Institutos Culturais Açorianos permanece como um nicho elitista ou é uma interveniente activa na esfera pública Açoriana.

ABSTRACT: In a sociological perspective we intend to analyze not only the dilemmas and paradoxes of Azorean intellectual community, as the contribution of sociocultural through the Azorean Cultural Institutes. To understand the cultural impact of the Azorean intellectual community, on social relevance, it becomes important to study in parallel the Azorean intellectual community, making it a socio-historic account of the genesis of the concept of intellectual since the Affaire Dreyfus. Coveting unravel the Institutes and Community Intellectual forming part of them, establish synergies with the company, or, by implication, remain as an elitist niche, ie, resistance to a “mass culture” that tends to prevail in the “world of life.” Methodologically, the analysis of documents, combined with the questionnaire will help to deduce: The Intellectual Community Cultural Institutes belonging to the Azorean remains an elitist niche or is a player active in the public sphere Azores.
